About the Event

Think Django meets The Weavers, Amalia Rodrigues meets Bill Monroe

When you listen to the      G u p pi     e s you just don’t know what you’re going to get…

Jim Nunally - has toured extensively  with the David Grisman Bluegrass Experience, John Reischman & the  Jaybirds, Bill Evans’ Banjo Extravaganza, Keith Little to name a few.  Has worked in duos with Dix Bruce and Nell Robinson for many years. He  has received two Grammy Certificates, two IBMA Awards. Jim plays guitar,  composes and sings with an authentic and original sound.

Nell Robinson - composer, vocalist and flautist - has been described as “one of the freshest voices in roots music.” Her project "The Henriettas" was featured on A Prairie Home Companion and “The Rose of No-Man’s Land” became a PBS Special. The abum, produced by Joe Henry, featured Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Kris Kristofferson, John Doe and Maxine Hong Kingston.

Dix Bruce - a  musician, composer, writer and award-winning guitarist from the San  Francisco Bay Area, was born and raised in the Midwest. His interests in  American folk music, jazz, and original composition are blended into a  unique vocal and instrumental sound. His compositions are fresh and his  energetic, exuberant stage personality, along with his driving rhythm  and lead guitar work, set the tone for a warm and exciting performance.
