About the Event

"Anton Barbeau is ‘famously unknown’. A cult hero, he's worked with members of XTC, The Soft Boys, Coil, Talk Talk and Cake. He’s one-degree of separation from both Paul McCartney and David Bowie. His biggest viral hit, at 17,000,000 views, was a song about oily hair." He’s released over 30 acclaimed albums on a number of independent labels in Europe and North America. His new album, Morgenmusik/Nachtschlager, was written in Berlin and California, with much of the recording taking place in Grass Valley and Nevada City.  With his band The Maude Squad, Barbeau will play songs from Morgenmusik/Nachtschlager as well as songs from his vast back catalog in his first-ever concert at the Side Door.

Anton Barbeau is one of the most insanely talented and creative people currently making music in the undercurrents in the world of music. - babysue

Allyson Seconds is well known in the Sacramento area for her work in the fitness community and for her work keeping animals and nature safe. She’s sung for decades with Kevin Seconds, Jonah Matranga and others. She’s released two albums written by Anton Barbeau. The first, Bag of Kittens, described by legendary UK publication Louder Than War as “thrilling and highly enjoyable,” featured Kimberley New (writer of Katrina and the Waves’ “Walking On Sunshine”) on guitar. The second album, Little World saw Allyson dueting with Colin Moulding of XTC and was featured on NPR’s Fresh Air.
