About the Event
Shapireau has recorded with, arranged for, and been a sideman and songwriter for many artists in a long career. He was in the Capitol Records band the Norton Buffalo Stampede touring on the bill with Steve Miller for years in the 70's, recording two albums and doing their own tours as well. Prior to that he lived in Spain and Holland, touring Europe playing his own music. While attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston he became friends with banjo master Bela Fleck and played in the band tasty Licks with Fleck for almost two years. Returning to CA, he began a long association with Suspex records as creative advisor, producer, arranger and sideman on guitar, mandolin, banjo, and bass. He has played on stage with, recorded with, and/or arranged for Taj Mahal. Bonnie Raitt, members of Jefferson Starship, Peter Rowan, Frank Wakefield, Don Reno, Hoyt Axton, David Bromberg, Tower of Power, Dan Hicks, Maria Muldaur, played Day on the Green Bill Graham shows with Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, Elvin Bishop, and The Beach Boys. He worked with Jerry Garcia and Merl Saunders on the 80's Twilight Zone remakes for TV.
