Derv Gordon from The Equals & So What with Kepi Ghoulie

Derv Gordon fronted the Equals, England’s first interracial rock band, in the 1960s. The group scored a hit with “Baby Come Back,” which drew on his Jamaican ska roots, and wrote “Police On My Back,” which was later covered by the Clash. The original lineup of the Equals also included Eddy Grant, who scored the 1983 hit “Electric Avenue."
