About the Event
SARA PETITE: This fiery Americana
singer-songwriter has torn up
stages for the past 15 years
with her band. She has released seven albums, the latest called
The Empress on Forty Below Records, with label president Eric Corne as
producer. Sara has played many stages and venues over the years playing
with her band and solo as a headliner or a solo performer. Some of the artists
she’s opened for are Todd Snider, Lucinda Williams, Josh Turner, Lonestar,
The Beat Farmers, John Eddie, Marty Stuart, Railroad Earth, and Rhett Mill-
er. Said Glide Magazine, “She can sound as feisty as Loretta Lynn and Wanda
Jackson, and she is just as good at portraying heartache as Patsy Cline.”
JOHN SURGE and his Haymakers are known
for red-hot live shows and a California
country sound that weaves together
classic country, rock ’n’ roll, blues and
folk styles into a spirited feel good
blend. The latest release on Blackbird
Records was produced in Texas by Tommy Detamore (Jim Lauderdale-Jesse
Daniel) reached No. 32 on the prestigious Americana Music Association chart.
Said Lonesome Highway, “With ‘Almost Time,’ Surge has made an album that
fits like a pair of well worn jeans and feels the right side of retro country but
also has an eye to the future and perfects his own personal vision of the mu-
sic that came from the likes of the Palomino Club in its heyday in L.A.”
