The Finnerty-Gordon Project featuring Darius Babazadeh

The Finnerty-Gordon Project makes its third appearance at the Side Door, again joined by saxophonist Darius Babazadeh, for another exhilarating night of high-energy jazz.

Darius Babazadeh has entertained Sacramento jazz fans for over 40 years, blending a lyrical cool sound with hard-bop pyrotechnics, forging a style all his own. He has performed with Natalie Cole, Johnny Mathis, The Temptations, Lynyrd Skynyrd, recorded with Paul Anka, and is a member of the Ron Cunha Big Band.

Guitarist Barry Finnerty is an internationally acclaimed jazz and fusion guitarist who has played and recorded with Miles Davis, the Brecker Brothers, the Crusaders, Hubert Laws, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis, Blood Sweat and Tears, and many others.

Drummer Scott Gordon has played and recorded with the Dave Bass Trio, Jessica Williams, Hugh Ragin, Herb Jeffries, Rick Hatfield, and the Herdin'Cats Big Band. Bassist Tyler Miles is one of Sacramento's most in-demand bassists, playing and recording with numerous groups such as the Dave Bass Trio, "Yuppie Liberation Front", and his own group "Preview Only".

The quartet will be playing a wide variety of styles, ranging from jazz standards to fiery post-bop thrillers. You're not going to want to miss it!
